A position has become available to join our team in Chorley as a Forensic Exhibit Handler/Administrator (Maternity Cover 1-Year). This is a multi-functional and physical role where you will be liaising with our wide range of customers; and be involved in receiving and returning a broad range of forensic samples including those from serious crime scenes and mass disasters.The suitable job holder will also support laboratory processes including physically working in a laboratory environment wearing appropriate PPE.
This role is busy and varied and would suit an individual who is capable of working well under pressure and to tight deadlines with a flexible and team-orientated approach. Experience of spreadsheet and database packages e.g. Word, Excel and Access is essential as well as computer and keyboard skills. The ability to multi-task in order to meet the changing priorities that occur throughout the day is also essential.
In light of the serious consequences of any error, you will also be required to have meticulous attention to detail and the ability to communicate clearly and concisely in both written and verbal forms and a pro-active approach to process improvement and problem-solving.
Please note that this position is a non-scientific based Administrative role with career progression opportunities through the Administrative teams. The full-time hours for this position are 37.5 hours compressed into 4 days (3 days working 9.5 hours and one day working 9 hours). The non-working day will rotate backwards on a five-week rotating shift pattern.
