About the role

As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for managing, monitoring and analysing emerging security issues, threats and trends, in addition to playing a key role in future security projects.

Analyse and evaluate new and existing security products and advise on implementation into existing environments without interruption to services to ensure that healthAlliance and its customers continue to be protected against current and emerging threats.

Continuously improve the implementation and configuration of existing solutions to improve efficiency, reduce false positives and enable orchestration and automation of solutions wherever possible.

You will work with internal teams and 3rd party service providers to ensure that the Cyber Intelligence Centre team is able to monitor, detect and respond to events impacting the security of healthAlliance and its customers.

To be successful you will need:

Tertiary Degree in an IT specific qualification or equivalent body of knowledge.
Relevant vendor qualifications and certifications.
Willing to obtain professional security certifications(s)
3-7 years working within an IT environment.
Minimum 2 years Security Operations experience
2 years of demonstrated ability to lead others in incident management and response, control production upgrades and respond to unexpected issues
Experience in digital computer forensic investigation and handling.
Minimum 2 years of SIEM experience including creating reports, tuning, creating content, creating and running queries, defining correlation searches
Able to demonstrate clear understanding of current threats to IT infrastructure at technical and managerial levels
Familiarity with security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001 / 2, OWASP
A passion for security and understanding of: antivirus & malware, EDR, sandbox, firewall, analysis, proxy, IDS/IPS, log correlation tools, network inspection, DLP and application firewall solutions.
