Consultant – Forensic Psychiatry – Inpatient – Blackburn

This role is a full-time position in a private trust in a Blackburn, Lancashire inpatient service; it offers highly negotiable rates for a dedicated psychiatrist. The trust is seeking an enthusiastic Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry to work Monday to Friday. Your core responsibilities would be to help assess, diagnose and oversee the mental health of patients in your care.

The doctor would be working across two wards – one ward would be a low secure sex offenders ward, 11 patients, all males and the other ward would be elderly offenders – 10 patients, all males.

Position: Consultant in Forensic Psychiatry

Hours: This position is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week 

Setting: Inpatient

Location: Blackburn, Lancashire

Dates: This position is available from the start of January for a 6/7 week period.

Skills:

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
  • Computer literate

Requirements:

  • You must have a full GMC licence to practice
  • Relevant previous experience working in this type of position
  • Section 12 approval is essential
  • Approved clinician status is desired but not essential
  • Have Old age CCT and/or Forensic CCT
