The Shopback Fraud function is seeking a forward-thinking and motivated leader to help ensure accuracy and integrity across ShopBack Products and services. The fraud function evaluates and takes action on signs of fraud, abuse, and manipulation. Our ideal candidate has a track record of synthesizing data insights and then leading engineers and analysts to deliver solutions. The candidate will be comfortable with ambiguity and is highly collaborative.

Responsibilities

  • In this role, you will be acting as our consumer and merchant fraud risk subject matter expert. You will be focused on improving the customer experience, deploying new fraud prevention measures and ongoing development of the product.
  • Determining the go-forward product strategy and roadmap. 
  • Identify customer needs to define product/feature requirements. You’re the intersection for product, technology, analytics and business operations, connecting all teams throughout the entire project and product life cycles. Your job will be to gather requirements, develop and track to a strategy, and manage competing priorities. You are responsible for creating priority for your projects by creating the business case. All to support your vision for our fraud prevention solutions.
  • Work directly with engineers and analysts. You lead a team of software developers and analysts to roll out new functionality, often in time sensitive projects.. 
  • Lead complex, multi-disciplinary product and engineering projects. You understand the full complexity of product decisions. You can effectively advocate for new features beyond. You can turn incomplete, conflicting, or ambiguous inputs into solid action plans. Beyond launching new changes, you obsess about continuous product improvement.
  • Drive projects to completion, on time. You highlight risks and clearly communicate those risks to stakeholders. You identify blockers and facilitate the removal of those blockers. You manage communication of progress/status with our team, other project stakeholders, and senior leaders when necessary.
  • Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in a science, technology, engineering, and/or mathematics related field is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant fraud typologies and experience in designing and delivering fraud prevention strategies from end to end.
  • At least 4 years of experience managing cross-functional engineering projects at a fast-paced, high-growth environment in any industry
  • An analytical and metrics driven work style. You break down questions and concerns methodically to solve problems in an organized way.
  • Project planning skills, an eye for details, and time management skills. You will be balancing multiple concurrent projects and responding to ad hoc requests.
  • Product management experience at consumer internet / technology companies
  • Knowledge of Machine learning versus rules based scoring engines is a plus
