About the Role 


The key objectives of the Anti-Fraud Coordinator are to: (i) investigate and resolve suspected fraudulent claims in order to achieve timely and cost-efficient conclusions whilst meeting regulatory obligations (ii) oversee the implementation and management of appropriate controls to mitigate the risk of fraud occurring.

Key Responsibilities:


•    Lead investigations into allegations of external claims fraud within appropriate timescales and to a professional standard.
•    Conduct desktop investigations and telephone/face to face interviews with customers and/or third parties as necessary, to obtain evidence to progress investigations to reach a resolution.
•    Maintain accurate and complete records for all investigations and outcomes.
•    Ensure, in relation to the combating of insurance fraud, that all statutory obligations and regulations of supervisory bodies and self-regulation (e.g. the Dutch Association of Insurers and Personal Data Authority (AP)) are met;
•    Provide advice to management and staff on the handling of fraud related information.
•    Provide regular reports to management on the results of investigations, fraud trends, risks and control effectiveness.
•    Review and update as necessary the Company's anti-fraud policy and associated procedures and controls on a regular basis. 
•    Design and provide training as required.
•    External communication and liaison with, for example, insurers, customers, third party service providers and the Police (as required) and specifically in the Netherlands, the Centre for the Control of Insurance Crime (CBV). 

About You


The ideal candidate can step into the role with a strong mindset, integrity and with an organized approach. We are open to the experience level if the candidate meets the role requirements. 


•    Degree/HBO level educated.
•    Minimum 3-5 years' experience as fraud coordinator and/or in possession of diploma Register Coördinator Fraudebeersing.   
•    Excellent knowledge of the Dutch insurance market and preferably financial services in the EU preferred.
•    Strong investigative skills and be able to make a judgement about what action should be taken on individual fraud cases, where and how to obtain information to assist in developing an investigation.
•    Empathetic but assertive in interviews and interactions with all third parties.
•    Be able to develop existing and new areas of intelligence gathering as legislation, processes, or best practice changes.
•    Fluent in Dutch and English (written and oral); other languages (ideally German, Spanish, or Italian) an advantage.
