Watch Alison Lowe, OBE, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime tell you about our recruitment opportunities []( To find out more about the work the Combined Authority is involved with take a look at our [latest news stories]( **The Role** *This is an exciting time to join Policing and Crime to help us deliver the Mayors Safer Community Fund and help us make our communities safer.* Reporting into the Consultation and Engagement Manager your key responsibilities will include: * Providing project and operational support for the effective delivery of the Mayors Safer Communities fund (MSCF), including assisting applicants with the preparation of grant applications, reviewing grant applications, supporting the Independent Advisory Board and the evaluation process. * Assist partners and communities with all aspects of the MSCF application process including supporting the online application process by downloading information and preparing applications for the team to review. * With the support of the MSCF team review grant applications prior to and after submission providing advice and recommendations on their suitability. * Establish and maintain positive and effective working relationship with community organisations and groups to ensure that there is an ongoing pipeline of applications into the fund. The Mayors Safer Communities Fund helps voluntary, community groups, charities and partners make their communities Safe, Just, Inclusive. Grants are awarded in line with the priorities set out in the Police and Crime plan ensuring the monies recovered from criminals by West Yorkshire Police (under the Proceeds of Crime Act) are put back into our communities to tackle policing, crime and community safety issues through a range of direct interventions. The fund also creates positive engagement with the projects and those they seek to support ensuring we understand the key challenges faced by our communities. []( This is a vetted role. Successful applicants to roles which have been identified for Vetting will be subject to all relevant vetting checks at the appropriate level and any job offer will be conditional on successful vetting. All applicants must meet the necessary vetting requirements but should be aware that it is not always possible to carry these out on persons who have not been resident within the UK for the last three years.
