The School of Natural Sciences of the University of Central Lancashire welcomes applications for the post of Lecturer in Forensic Crime Scene Investigation.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic and enthusiastic team who love teaching undergraduate students. After considerable and sustainable recruitment success we are looking to expand this team and research/knowledge transfer portfolio and explore a deeper relationship with the Lancashire Forensic Science Academy (LFSA). Experience of delivering Crime Scene Investigation in a higher education environment is therefore essential.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate that they are able to conduct research/knowledge transfer in an area of Crime Scene Investigation, or Investigative Science that either strengthens, or is complementary to the current team. An expertise in the digital crime scene will be particularly welcome.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
Carry out teaching on the BSc Crime Scene Science degrees, as well as teaching on other degree schemes.
Carry out research or knowledge transfer activity, and support others in that work preferably in an area complementary to current areas of LFSA research.
Contribute to the general development and operation of the Crime Scene Science degrees.
Carry out other duties, such as course development, student recruitment and outreach, where needed.
The successful candidate will have a good honours degree (or equivalent) or Masters qualification in Forensic Science or relevant discipline. They will have the ability to teach and supervise dissertations up to and including Masters level and have the ability to work on their own initiative as well as part of a team.
We are looking for a candidate with a flexible and innovative approach to teaching and learning. They will also have excellent presentation and communications skills.
