Dundee Dental School are recruiting for an exceptional individual to join us as a full-time Lecturer in Forensic Dentistry. This is a unique opportunity to join our team and help deliver two Masters Programmes in Forensic Dentistry (1 year full time) and Forensic Odontology (2 years full time) and PhD Students. These are the only forensic dentistry programmes in the UK and one of a small number internationally.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified dental surgeons who are interested in joining a highly motivated, innovative and committed team. The successful candidate will join an established team of academic staff and will be expected to engage with teaching, research and reporting responsibilities within Forensic Dentistry. These may include teaching duties for undergraduate students.
Your priorities will include:
Teaching, supervision, mentoring and examination of undergraduate and postgraduate students
Lectures, seminars, tutorials and examinations for TPG students
Research activity which could include pedagogy in line with our research interests
Forensic duties in conjunction with Police Scotland and Procurator Fiscal
Develop, in collaboration with academic colleagues, teaching initiatives including assessment
Who we’re looking for:
BDS or equivalent
Postgraduate qualification in Forensic Dentistry
Experience in Forensic Dentistry
Experience of UG/PG teaching through lectures and seminars
Experience of running a regional Forensic Dental Service
It is expected that the incumbent will contribute to research activity aligned with the Schools research themes, generating high quality publications. There are excellent opportunities for research within the Dental School, and with Schools elsewhere in the University. In addition, the Dental School has a track record for international collaborations and ground-breaking research, offering outstanding opportunities.
