This is an agency-wide position, which is comprised of several geographically separated divisions with a nationwide force: Infrastructure Security Division, Cybersecurity Division, Emergency Communications Division, National Risk Management Center and several organizational units.
Typical work assignments include:
Develop long-range plans for IT security systems that anticipate, identify, evaluate, mitigate, and minimize risks associated with IT systems vulnerabilities.
Coordinate and provide expert technical support to enterprise-wide cyber defense technicians to resolve cyber defense incidents.
Perform real-time cyber defense incident handling (e.g. forensic collections, intrusion correlation and tracking, threat analysis, and direct system remediation) tasks to support deployable Incident Response Teams.
Document and escalate incidents (including event’s history, status, and potential impact for further action) that may cause ongoing and immediate impact to the environment.
Implement higher-level security requirements such as those resulting from laws, regulations, or Presidential directives.
Occasional travel – You may be expected to travel 1-5 nights per month for this position.
