Sheriff’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) Tactical Analyst (Civil Service)

TOTAL COMPENSATION: $75,976.29 – $106,292.66 Total compensation is an estimate based upon base compensation, median retirement fund contributions, and current employer-paid health and related benefit contribution rates (including medical, dental, life insurance, long term disability, and leave). The actual total will vary depending upon each employee’s enrollment choices.
 
The starting pay will begin at $28.54 on the pay scale, will have a pay increase after six (6) full months of employment and will have annual increases thereafter, maxing out at the top step of the pay scale*. 
 
This position is grant-funded through 2026; however, it is the intent of the Sheriff to secure permanent funding for this position. As with all public civil service positions unforeseen budgetary issues could impact future funding.
 
This analyst position will support commissioned and non-commissioned Spokane County Sheriff’s Office [herein referred to as Agency] employees, along with regional law enforcement partners through performance level strategic and tactical work. Incumbent will pro-actively monitor camera systems and Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), as well as other external software assets relating to real time law enforcement situations and activities. Incumbent will receive, evaluate, and transmit information to both internal and external agency law enforcement officers and first responders, providing situational awareness updates, utilizing police radios and telephones to transmit information for priority calls, and will work in conjunction with analyst partners across several external agencies. This position will work within a multi-county, multi-state network, requiring communication across multiple platforms simultaneously in a high stress environment.
 
This non-commissioned classification provides real-time assistance and intervention with the objective to prevent injury to the public and damage to infrastructure or property and is tasked to monitor for public disturbances, identify real threats, and provide video evidence and testimony in related cases; work is performed according to Agency policies and procedures. The Real Time Crime Center (RTCC) Tactical Analyst reviews, edits, and creates digital evidence for deputies, detectives, attorneys, courts, open record requests, and other law enforcement partners under the supervision of the Agency’s Regional Intelligence Group (RIG9) leadership, who will review work methods, records for accuracy, effectiveness, and for adherence to required regulations.

 Location: Spokane, WA (by invitation only)

 
 
All Civil Service written exams, oral board interviews, or any other interview involved with this position must be conducted in-person at the applicant’s expense. No online, over-the-phone, or outside testing facilities are permitted. No exceptions. This position does not allow for remote testing; applicants will be required to travel to Spokane, WA to take the written and practical exams in-person.
