West Yorkshire Police are looking to appoint a Victim Identification Officer to be based at Calder Park, Wakefield.
Victim Identification is at the forefront of all our investigations. This role is pivotal in enabling the victims of abuse to be safeguarded whilst those responsible are identified and prevented from further offending.

You will be part of the Digital Forensic Unit, leading the implementation of Victim Identification, acting as a liaison for West Yorkshire Police and partners internally and externally.
You will support investigators within West Yorkshire Police in Victim Identification and the use of CAID.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working in a Digital Forensic environment or experience of the CAID system (or similar experience). You must have an aptitude for problem solving, in a methodical and orderly manner.

You will be required to have physical and emotional resilience to regularly deal with abusive and offensive imagery of extreme violence, obscenity and depravity.

This is a very challenging and demanding, but also rewarding role. The successful candidate will be subject to personal and financial vetting checks prior to appointment, and will be required to undergo regular psychological assessments.
You will support the investigation of serious crime and report to a Senior Digital Forensic Investigator.
